Health, Safety and Sustainability Specialist

If you think you'll like to manage the following responsibilities at higher standards:
Develop, implement and maintain site health, safety and environmental (HSE) programmes to ensure legal and company compliance.
Lead risk assessments, job safety analyses and incident investigations; implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate root causes.
Monitor workplace inspections, audits and safety observations; track non-conformances and verify timely closure.
Drive sustainability initiatives, waste reduction, energy efficiency and circular economy practices across operations.
Provide HSE input to new product introductions, process changes and capital projects to ensure safe by-design principles.
Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks; build capability and promote a positive safety culture among all employees and contractors.
Maintain and update HSE documentation, permits, risk registers and emergency response plans.
Analyse HSE performance metrics and prepare regular reports for site management and corporate stakeholders.
Coordinate with local authorities, external auditors and suppliers on compliance, inspections and permits.
Support business continuity, crisis management and occupational health programmes.
and if you have/are:
Relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Hygiene or similar.
Professional certification desirable (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, CIH or equivalent) and experience working with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001.
Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment managing HSE and sustainability programmes.
Strong knowledge of UK/EU HSE legislation, permit to work systems and environmental permitting requirements.
Practical skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools (e.g. 5 Why, Ishikawa).
Effective communicator with the ability to deliver training and influence at all levels; collaborative and customer-focused.
Organised, proactive and able to prioritise multiple tasks; good analytical skills and attention to detail.
IT literate with experience in HSE management systems, reporting tools and Microsoft Office.
Full UK driving licence desirable; English required. Additional language skills are a plus.
